Every trip onto sand or corrugation starts the same way: pressure down, or fight the terrain the whole way. Doing it properly means a gauge, four valve caps, and a lot of crouching in the dust — which is why plenty of people just guess, or skip it entirely.

The Deadtree deflators turn that into a two-minute job you barely think about. Twist the body until the etched scale shows the pressure you want, tighten the lock ring, and thread all four onto the valve stems. Each one bleeds air and stops itself dead on the number you set. By the time you've stretched your legs and had a look at the track ahead, all four corners are down and matched.

There's no gauge to fetch and nothing to watch. The scale covers 10 to 30 PSI in 5 PSI steps, and the shut-off holds to a tenth of a PSI — tight enough that your tyres end up genuinely even, not near enough. Even pressure is what keeps a bakkie tracking straight in soft sand rather than pulling to one side.

They thread onto any standard Schrader valve, so the same set works across the bakkie, the trailer, the caravan and the quad. And when they've had a season of dust and mud through them, the spring pulls out of the body by hand — rinse it, dry it, push it back. No tools, no fiddly reassembly.
